2007 – Establishment
Founded in 2007, Mech-Automate India has become a leading and trusted service provider for machine tool reconditioning and retrofitting across India. Before the company's establishment, Gajanan Tavse foresaw a high market demand for these services but noted a lack of providers with the necessary precision and expertise. Driven by a goal to offer top-quality services, we established our enterprise as Sri Akshay Engineering Works. We quickly gained national recognition by embracing the popular industry motto: "Quality is customer satisfaction." Since our inception, we have continuously enhanced our business by upgrading our manufacturing and tooling facilities, expanding our skilled workforce, and increasing our floor space.
2013 – Escalate the business horizons
After several strategic efforts and planning over five years, the company successfully entered the European market in 2013. This milestone not only marked a significant achievement but also allowed us to collaborate with leading experts in mechanical engineering. Over the following years, we expanded our services to clients in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
2016 – Progressive Approach
After embracing a lean culture, we embarked on several cost-saving projects, which led us to make strategic and informed decisions. We adjusted our approach and invested in precise machining capabilities to address our reliance on vendors with limited resources for grinding work. To enhance our facility, we added a heavy-duty slideway bed grinder with CNC control and progressively integrated both conventional and CNC-controlled machines to support our metalworking processes. These upgrades allowed us to secure job orders with our existing setup and client base, adding substantial value to our business.
2018 – Glorified Business Opportunity
Leveraging our potential and a solid client base, we aimed to secure increasing business opportunities. By this point, we had established ourselves as a service provider and decided to venture into sales. Our objective was to become a one-stop shop for spare parts such as bearings, ball screws, lead screws, and CNC components. Since our entry into sales, we expanded our offerings, supporting an anti-vibration pads OEM project in 2010. By 2018, we became the exclusive distributor for a ball-screw OEM based in China across PAN India. Early in 2019, we partnered with a German OEM for bearings. By the end of 2019, we achieved exclusive dealership status for GMW Machines GmbH from Germany for the entire Indian market.
2024 – Branding Strategy
In today's business landscape, it's clear that success hinges not only on the quality of a company's products or services but also on its operations, marketing, and branding strategies. Sri Akshay Engineering Work recognizes this shift and is committed to leveraging digitalization and strategic branding to drive growth and success. By adopting the name "Mech-Automate India," we aim to carve out a distinct identity in the market and clearly define our business approach. Our marketing efforts will be focused on highlighting our innovative solutions and industry expertise, ensuring that our brand stands out and resonates with our target audience. We believe that this comprehensive strategy will not only differentiate us from competitors but also position us as leaders in the field of mechanical automation and smart manufacturing.
GAJANAN VIJAY TAVSE
Gajanan has made significant contributions to the industry over the past three decades, consistently delivering valuable results. Beginning his career with Jaya Hind Industries Pvt Ltd. as an engineer, he played a key role in maintenance operations, implementing lean practices, and ensuring quality service for customers.
Later, as Engineering Manager at Cotmac Electronics, Gajanan's role expanded to include strategic planning, business development, and the further adoption of lean culture. His efforts were instrumental in driving the company's success and profitability, particularly during a period of substantial growth in 2004.
In 2007, Gajanan took a pivotal step by founding Sri Akshay Engineering Works as CEO. Fueled by his passion, technical expertise, and business acumen, he embraced entrepreneurship and aimed to seize emerging opportunities in the market. Gajanan firmly believes that "Quality is customer satisfaction," a principle that continues to guide the organization.

AKSHAY GAJANAN TAVSE
Akshay's career began at Cosmos Surfaces in the United States in 2021, where he played a key role in operations, focusing on supply-demand models, logistics, and inventory forecasting. His expertise in streamlining operations and optimizing supply chains significantly improved the company's efficiency. As he progressed in his career, he held various positions within the manufacturing and operations sectors, where he gained extensive experience in production planning, quality control, and process improvement. He earned his degree in Industrial Engineering from St. Mary’s University in the United States in December 2021, graduating with an excellent GPA.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Akshay has been actively involved in his family's business as a second-generation leader. He aims to expand the business into smart manufacturing, automation, and additive manufacturing, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance production capabilities and competitiveness. Akshay is focused on implementing advanced manufacturing techniques, such as predictive maintenance, IoT integration, and robotics, to drive efficiency and innovation. To further his vision, he is pursuing a Doctorate in Business from SSBM, Switzerland, with a focus on Strategic Planning and Management, equipping him with the strategic insights and leadership skills needed to navigate the complexities of modern manufacturing and business expansion.
